Connect Google: Gmail + Business Profile reviews

One Google connection powers two channels: your Gmail support inbox and your Google Business Profile (Maps) reviews. You grant access once; you can switch either channel on or off independently.

Before you start

  • You need an Augury account with admin access to your company. If you don't have one yet, schedule a demo and we'll set you up.
  • Use the Google account that owns your support inbox. For review replies, that same Google account must be an owner or manager of your Business Profile.

Connect Gmail

  1. Sign in to the Augury dashboard and open your company page.
  2. In Google Integration, click Connect Google Account.
  3. Google shows a consent screen listing the access Augury needs (read incoming mail, send replies you approve, read the guideline docs you choose). Approve it.
  4. Back in Augury, click Enable Gmail Notifications. From now on, new customer emails appear in your Drafts queue with a ready-to-review reply, usually within a minute of arrival.

Add guidelines (recommended)

Augury drafts in your voice when it has something to learn from. In Guideline Folders, paste a Google Drive folder link containing your help docs, policies, or canned replies. You can keep several folders (e.g. "Formal", "Casual") and switch which one is active.

Enable Google review replies

  1. In the Google Business Profile Reviews card, click Enable GBP Reviews.
  2. Google asks for one additional permission (manage your business listings). Approve it.
  3. Pick the business locations you want monitored and save.
  4. New reviews on those locations appear in your Drafts queue within about 15 minutes, marked PUBLIC. Review replies never send automatically — every public reply requires your explicit approval, and a safety check blocks personal information (order numbers, emails, phone numbers) from going public.

Disconnecting

You can disable either channel, or disconnect Google entirely, from the same settings page at any time. Disconnecting stops all new message ingestion immediately.
